Discussed U.S.-Israel Relationship and Bipartisan Congressional Delegation to Israel

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — U.S. Congressmen Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, joined the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) Bergen County Annual Leadership Breakfast at Congregation Ahavath Torah in Englewood, NJ, to discuss their work to support the U.S. Israel relationship.

Gottheimer was joined by former AIPAC President Mort Fridman, Bergen County Director Robin Tare, and Northeast Political Director Jason Koppel.

“Along with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle, including fellow Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chair Brian Fitzpatrick, we are focused like a laser on ensuring the U.S.-Israel relationship remains bipartisan and durable. I want to thank the North Jersey Jewish community and AIPAC for welcoming us,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Earlier this year, I had the honor of joining two congressional trips to Israel — one with Leader Jeffries and one with Speaker McCarthy. The last 75 years have proven that our relationship with Israel must remain bipartisan. The Jewish State is integral to our joint fight against terror, to expansion of Israeli-Arab normalization efforts, and to shared security and intelligence efforts.”

Gottheimer traveled to Israel with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other congressional leaders. Then, Gottheimer traveled to Israel on a Bipartisan Congressional Delegation led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Steny Hoyer with more than a dozen members of Congress. During his trips, Gottheimer participated in high-level meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President of Israel Isaac Herzog, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides. The delegation also took part in a roundtable discussion with Palestinian civil society technology and entrepreneurship leaders and met with the U.S. Embassy Marine Detachment in Jerusalem.
