WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), Co-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, traveled to Ghana with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other congressional leaders.

In Ghana, one of America’s closest allies in West Africa, the delegation held high-level meetings to discuss further advancing shared priorities and strengthening the partnership between the two countries. Gottheimer visited the presidential palace, known as the Jubilee House, as well as the U.S. Embassy in Ghana and the Diaspora African Forum at the WEB DuBois Center in Accra. Gottheimer met with the U.S. Marine Detachment in Accra and Peace Corps volunteers. The delegation also visited sites connected to the painful history of the transatlantic slave trade including Osu Castle.

The delegation is then traveling to Israel to commemorate Israel’s 75th anniversary and participate in Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. The delegation will also meet with key officials and stakeholders in Israel and discuss strengthening the historic, bipartisan U.S.-Israel relationship and supporting America’s most vital ally in the Middle East.
