Malik Nabers, a wide receiver for the New York Giants, has been recognized among the NFL’s top players in his position according to an ESPN poll. This annual survey involved more than 70 league executives, coaches, and scouts who ranked the top 10 players across 11 different positions for the upcoming 2025 season.
The rankings were determined based on votes, composite averages, and numerous interviews supported by research and film analysis from ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen. More than 70 voters participated in this process, submitting ballots for at least one position or all positions. Additional voting and follow-up calls helped resolve any ties.
Despite having only one year of experience in the NFL, Malik Nabers secured the seventh spot among wide receivers. “Nabers has the NFL’s full attention,” wrote ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. His rookie season was notable with over 100 catches and more than 1,200 yards despite playing in a struggling offense with four different quarterbacks. He set a new franchise record with 109 receptions leading to 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.
Nabers achieved significant success despite missing two games; he finished fifth in league receptions and ranked sixth overall with an average of 80.3 receiving yards per game. An evaluator described him as having exceptional speed yet built robustly like a truck while noting his potential growth as an elite route runner.
During his debut season, Nabers recorded several impressive stats: he had 14 games with five or more catches (an all-time rookie record), led rookies in yards after contact (256), first downs (55), and missed tackles forced (19) according to Pro Football Focus. His performance earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl and inclusion on the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
“Some guys are just different,” remarked an NFC defensive coach about Nabers’ unique abilities.
ESPN’s poll lists Ja’Marr Chase from Cincinnati Bengals as number one followed by Justin Jefferson from Minnesota Vikings among others including Tyreek Hill from Miami Dolphins at third place down to Garrett Wilson from New York Jets rounding out tenth place.
