Training camp practice No. 3 for the Giants concluded with significant plays and player insights. After focusing on the red zone in earlier sessions, the team worked on mid-field plays this Friday. The players will have a break on Saturday before resuming practice on Sunday.
The highlight of the day was a 50-yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Malik Nabers down the right sideline. Both players have been building chemistry during their time training together in San Diego. “Malik and I have a great relationship,” Wilson noted, emphasizing Nabers’ consistency and love for the game.
Nabers, who admired Wilson while growing up, spoke about his experience working alongside him: “I’ve been watching him since the Super Bowl when he won… To have that on the side of me in my locker room is just an extra mentor.”
Rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo ended practice positively with a red-zone touchdown connection.
In terms of takeaways, rookie cornerback Korie Black came close to intercepting a pass but ultimately managed to disrupt it effectively.
Other notable plays included connections between Dart and Skattebo, as well as successful passes involving Beaux Collins and Jordan Bly. Defensive efforts were highlighted by Elijah Chatman stopping a run play, while Dante Miller impressed with his speed during a catch-and-run.
Defensive collaborations were also evident as Tyler Nubin and Deonte Banks forced an incompletion from Wilson’s deep attempt to Darius Slayton. Additionally, Dane Belton and Elijah Garcia each had moments that could have resulted in sacks.
