The New York Giants began their preseason with a 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo. The game featured all four Giants quarterbacks, each leading the offense on scoring drives.
Russell Wilson started at quarterback for the Giants and played one series. He completed six of seven passes for 28 yards, helping set up a field goal on the opening drive.
Rookie Jaxson Dart made his NFL debut, completing 12 of 19 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed three times for 24 yards, finishing with a passer rating of 106.0.
Jameis Winston opened the second half as quarterback and led three drives, ending his final possession with a seven-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Gunner Olszewski. Winston went seven-for-11 passing for 62 yards and one touchdown, earning a passer rating of 108.9 along with a 12-yard run.
Tommy DeVito was the fourth quarterback to play for New York. The third-year player completed ten of fourteen passes for seventy-three yards and one touchdown, recording a passer rating of 107.1.
Kicker Graham Gano made all three field goal attempts from beyond fifty yards and converted his only extra point attempt.
Wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey caught two passes totaling thirty-six yards, including one touchdown reception.
Running back Dante Miller contributed twenty-two rushing yards but had more impact catching passes out of the backfield. He led all players with seven receptions for eighty receiving yards, finishing with over one hundred total scrimmage yards.
Gunner Olszewski caught five passes for twenty-seven yards and scored once as he continued strong performances seen during training camp.
On defense, rookie outside linebacker Trace Ford recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter that led to New York’s game-clinching score. Ford finished with four tackles (one solo), one quarterback hit, and the fumble recovery.
