The New York Giants held their ninth training camp session, marking the third consecutive practice and the second in pads. The two-hour session included three competitive team periods, followed by a 30-minute walkthrough.

During the early part of practice, offensive and defensive linemen focused on executing twists and stunts—techniques where defenders crisscross to create pass rush lanes. Coaches Carmen Bricillo and James Ferentz led these drills for the second year with many returning players. The offensive line generally worked well together, though Brian Burns and Abdul Carter caused difficulties with their straight rushes.

Simultaneously, wide receivers faced off against cornerbacks in one-on-one drills while tight ends and running backs competed against safeties and linebackers. Jaxson Dart connected with Montrell Washington for a score, showing developing chemistry between the two. Deonte Banks forced an incompletion covering Malik Nabers, but Nabers later responded with a touchdown catch. Lil’Jordan Humphrey made a contested grab over Tre Hawkins before Hawkins broke up another pass intended for him later in practice.

On another field, Tyrone Tracy Jr. performed well in pass protection against Darius Muasau. Tight end Greg Dulcich caught several passes from Jameis Winston, including a deep touchdown reception. Makari Paige defended successfully against Daniel Bellinger, while Dane Belton broke up a pass to Jermaine Terry II. Dante Miller outran linebacker Micah McFadden for a long gain after previously being stopped by McFadden on a pass rush rep.

Jameis Winston completed notable throws during team periods, finding Da’Quan Felton on an in-cut and Jordan Bly over the middle after play action. Nic Jones’s blitz could have resulted in a sack earlier in that period.

Defensively, Roy Robertson-Harris and Brian Burns stopped an outside run by Tyrone Tracy Jr., setting the tone for the second team period.

A highlight occurred when Russell Wilson’s deep attempt to Wan’Dale Robinson was deflected by Dru Phillips but landed back into Robinson’s hands for a touchdown after he got up from the ground.

Jeremiah Ledbetter batted down a pass at the line of scrimmage; Dyontae Johnson showed speed carrying Ihmir Smith-Marsette downfield to force an incompletion; O’Donnell Fortune contained Donte Miller on an outside run and knocked away another pass targeting Da’Quan Felton.

In final move-the-ball drills, defenses stopped two out of three groups while Jaxson Dart led his unit to a touchdown capped by Jordan Bly’s diving catch under pressure from Trace Ford.

To close practice, head coach Brian Daboll organized a quarterback competition to hit the crossbar from 25 yards out. Jameis Winston succeeded on his first try: “As a result,” Daboll said, “I cancelled the team’s evening walkthrough, giving the players an early start to their day off on Sunday.”
