The New York Giants held their eighth training camp practice on a cool, breezy day with temperatures in the sixties or low seventies. Players were in full pads for the two-hour session.

During early drills, offensive and defensive linemen faced off in 1-on-1 matchups. Jermaine Eluemunor and Brian Burns competed closely, with Eluemunor winning several early reps before Burns managed to get past him on the final attempt. Eluemunor also held his own against other top pass rushers, including Abdul Carter.

Abdul Carter was noted as difficult to block throughout practice. He succeeded on an inside rush against John Michael Schmitz and used a quick spin move to get by Jon Runyan. Carter continued to be disruptive during team periods, reaching the backfield for at least one potential sack.

Chauncey Gholston displayed his ability to control offensive linemen using his length and strength in 1-on-1s. Darius Alexander and Elijah Chatman showed power pushing linemen into the backfield. Kayvon Thibodeaux and James Hudson matched up in several reps.

The defense performed well during team drills, particularly in three two-minute drill scenarios at the end of practice. In the first situation, Russell Wilson led the offense downfield but was stopped when Tyler Nubin intercepted a pass as time expired. The second team offense’s drive ended after Chauncey Gholston sacked Jaxson Dart near midfield.

Jameis Winston led the third team offense from its own 20-yard line with two timeouts and 53 seconds left, connecting with Zach Pascal for a big gain across midfield. However, the defense held strong; Dee Williams broke up two deep passes and O’Donnell Fortune added another break-up. The drive ended without attempting a field goal.

Throughout practice, defensive backs made notable plays. Dee Williams had two interceptions against Tommy Devito and broke up additional passes during team drills. Dane Belton intercepted a pass during team drills and returned it for what likely would have been a touchdown.

Linebackers Bobby Okereke, Darius Muasau, and Micah McFadden contributed run stops while Art Green, Nic Jones, Tre Hawkins, Deonte Banks, Paulson Adebo, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Brian Burns all made key defensive plays.

Offensively, Russell Wilson completed a deep touchdown pass to Malik Nabers down the right sideline. Tyrone Tracy also scored on a long run after cutting upfield untouched.
