The New York Giants secured a 31-12 win over the New York Jets in their annual preseason matchup at MetLife Stadium on Saturday. The game featured several notable plays, including an 80-yard completion from quarterback Russell Wilson and two touchdowns by rookie Jaxson Dart, who completed his night with 13 consecutive passes.

With this victory, the Giants improved to 2-0 in the preseason. They are set to host the New England Patriots on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET for their final preseason game. NFL teams must reduce their rosters to a maximum of 53 players by August 26 at 4 p.m., ahead of the regular season opener against Washington on September 7.

The Giants’ offense began strongly when Wilson connected with undrafted rookie receiver Beaux Collins for an 80-yard gain on his first throw. Running back Devin Singletary finished that drive with a touchdown run. Wilson ended his appearance with four completions out of seven attempts for 108 yards and one interception.

Jaxson Dart entered the game during the fourth series and later led two consecutive touchdown drives, including a scoring pass to tight end Greg Dulcich and a quarterback sneak set up by wide receiver Juice Wells Jr.’s effort near the goal line. Dart completed 14 of his 16 passes for 137 yards and accounted for two touchdowns.

Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. carried seven times for 39 yards, averaging over five yards per attempt. Jameis Winston contributed late in the third quarter with a long completion to Dalen Cambre and ran in another touchdown. Tommy DeVito also saw action but was intercepted after completing a deep pass to Jordan Bly.

Seven different Giants recorded receptions of at least 20 yards as the team scored more than thirty points for a second straight week. Dante Miller led all receivers with four catches for forty-three yards while adding five carries on the ground.

On defense, cornerback Cor’Dale Flott broke up a key pass early as he competes for a starting spot. Safety Dane Belton recorded seven tackles, leading the team, while defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris had four tackles in limited playtime. Rookie outside linebacker Abdul Carter registered pressure off the edge and assisted Brian Burns in stopping Jets running back Breece Hall.

The defense forced its first turnover midway through the third quarter when undrafted rookies Trace Ford and Makari Paige combined for an interception off Adrian Martinez’s pass attempt.

Special teams duties were handled by Jude McAtamney, who made all four extra points and converted his only field goal try from thirty-five yards out. McAtamney is noted as being elevated from the International Player Pathway program earlier this year—the first such player promoted to an active roster in 2024.

Russell Wilson and Brian Burns served as gameday captains for this contest; players will vote later this month to determine full-season captains.

No immediate injuries were reported by the Giants during or after Saturday’s game.
