The New York Giants resumed their training camp on Thursday, focusing on red zone plays. Coach Brian Daboll addressed the media before safety Tyler Nubin, wide receiver Darius Slayton, and outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux spoke post-practice.
Daboll praised Nubin’s leadership skills and potential as a key defensive player. “Nubin is a pro,” Daboll said. “He’s got tremendous leadership skills.” Nubin aims to improve his takeaway stats this season after a rookie year without interceptions.
Slayton expressed gratitude for entering his seventh year with the Giants alongside Dexter Lawrence, highlighting consistency as key to his career longevity. “I’ve been blessed,” Slayton stated.
The Giants revamped their secondary by signing cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevón Holland. Nubin is optimistic about teaming up with Holland. “We definitely got a lot of similar skill sets,” he noted.
Thibodeaux aims to improve his sack total after last year’s decline due to injuries and other factors. He has turned to wrestling techniques in preparation for the new season. “Wrestling is another form of tackling,” Thibodeaux explained.
