The New York Giants held their 10th training camp practice as they continued preparations for the upcoming preseason game in Buffalo. The session, which lasted about one hour and 45 minutes, took place under clear skies with temperatures near 80 degrees.
During the first competitive drills, offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor won three consecutive reps against Abdul Carter in one-on-one matchups. Evan Neal also managed to keep his rusher at bay during his turns. On defense, Brian Burns demonstrated a variety of moves, including an outside spin and a bull rush, while Kayvon Thibodeaux showed power on his own rush attempts. Greg Van Roten returned to practice following the birth of his daughter and used his experience to handle defensive pressure.
In seven-on-seven drills, quarterback Russell Wilson connected with Theo Johnson on a sideline pass despite tight coverage from Dane Belton. Deonte Banks broke up a slant pass attempt. Montrell Washington made a notable leaping one-handed catch from Jaxson Dart and has continued to stand out in camp.
Tommy DeVito found Gunner Olszewski between two defenders on a low throw; Olszewski also caught four passes from Jameis Winston during the final drive of practice, including several diving catches and the last one for a touchdown.
Team drills saw Russell Wilson complete deep passes to Malik Nabers and Jalin Hyatt. Although Hyatt’s catch was disrupted by Deonte Banks after completion, both plays contributed to offensive momentum. Darius Alexander pressured quarterbacks on consecutive plays, Dexter Lawrence stopped Tyrone Tracy Jr. on a run play, and Elijah Chatman combined with Dane Belton to halt Wilson short of the goal line during red zone work. Wilson later hit Hyatt in the end zone but it was ruled illegal touching due to stepping out of bounds earlier in the play.
Jaxson Dart threw a red zone touchdown pass to Zach Pascal while Tommy DeVito capped off red zone drills with another score thrown to Dante Miller.
Defensively, Jevon Holland intercepted a pass over the middle during “move the ball” periods—potentially returning it for a score if not for Russell Wilson’s pursuit—and Brian Burns along with Kayvon Thibodeaux continued applying pressure throughout practice. Malik Nabers contributed key receptions for first downs and scored with an airborne grab.
Jaxson Dart led another drive that advanced inside the ten-yard line before ending near the five-yard mark after several short completions and runs.
Raheem Layne (who also recorded a run stop), TJ Moore, Makari Paige, and Trey Hawkins all registered pass break-ups during various segments of practice.
