The New York Giants have made several roster changes as players reported for training camp at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Offensive tackle Andrew Thomas and running back Eric Gray have been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. Thomas, who had surgery last season due to a foot injury sustained against Cincinnati, did not participate in spring practices. Gray is dealing with a knee injury and enters his third season after playing all 17 games for the Giants in 2024.
Linebacker Victor Dimukeje has been placed on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list due to a pectoral injury. Dimukeje joined the Giants from the Cardinals as a free agent. Safety Anthony Johnson Jr. was waived with a shoulder injury.
The Giants also announced the signing of safety K’Von Wallace, who was with them on a tryout basis during minicamp in June. Wallace was originally drafted by the Eagles in 2020 and has played for Philadelphia, Arizona, Tennessee, and Seattle.
Players on the active/PUP list can attend team meetings and use facilities but cannot participate in practice activities until removed from the list. They could be moved to reserve/PUP during roster cutdowns, which would require sitting out the first four games if not activated.
NFI procedures are similar to PUP but apply to injuries outside NFL activities.
