Andrew Thomas, the New York Giants’ left tackle, is active for “Sunday Night Football” against the Kansas City Chiefs. Thomas had not played since sustaining a foot injury on October 13, 2024, which ended his previous season. He increased his participation in practice over recent weeks but missed the first two games of this season.

This week marked the first time during his rehabilitation that Thomas practiced three consecutive days. He was listed as questionable on the final injury report. Speaking on Friday, Thomas said, “If I’m speaking as a competitor, I wanted to be out there for Week 1. But the best thing for the team and for myself is for me to be 100 percent out there. I think I can help the team out when I’m at my best, so I’m trying to get back to that.”

For Sunday night’s game, the Giants will have several inactive players: inside linebackers Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and Darius Muasau; outside linebacker Chauncey Golston; offensive lineman Evan Neal; tight end Thomas Fidone II; defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches; and quarterback Jameis Winston (third quarterback designation).

The Chiefs’ inactive list includes wide receiver Xavier Worthy, cornerback Kristian Fulton, tight end Jared Wiley, running back Elijah Mitchell, defensive end Michael Danna, and center Hunter Nourzad.

The Giants are currently managing multiple injuries among their inside linebackers. Micah McFadden suffered a foot injury in the season opener and was placed on injured reserve. His backup Darius Muasau exited Week 2 with a concussion and eye injury and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game. Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles aggravated a calf injury during practice and was considered doubtful before being listed as inactive.

Defensive lineman Rakeem Nuñez-Roches Sr., who has a foot injury, was also listed as doubtful leading up to the game. Additionally, Chauncey Golston (ankle) and wide receiver/returner Gunner Olszewski (back) were both questionable.

On Saturday before the game, the Giants made several roster adjustments. Outside linebacker Tomon Fox was signed from the practice squad to the active roster. Defensive lineman Elijah Garcia received his third elevation of three allowed by NFL rules from the practice squad. Linebacker Neville Hewitt was also activated from the practice squad after joining earlier in the week as a veteran exception. Hewitt brings experience from playing with Miami Dolphins (2015-2017), New York Jets (2018-2020), and Houston Texans (2021-2024), having appeared in 146 regular-season games with 48 starts and five postseason appearances.

Wide receiver/returner Xavier Gipson was waived by New York after being claimed off waivers from the Jets less than two weeks ago.

For Kansas City, wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder), cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle), and defensive end Michael Danna (quad) were ruled out prior to Sunday night’s contest according to their final injury report. Wide receiver Jalen Royals was listed as questionable with a knee issue.

Cornerback Kevin Knowles was activated by Kansas City as part of their standard gameday elevation process.
